I ventured out of Edinburgh for a hike this week, instead heading west to the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. This is a beautiful area of Scotland, well worth exploring. I've been before, but there's always new parts to see, and I don't get to go that often, as it's difficult to access much of it by public transport. I was going with a friend who drives though - I very much appreciated her driving me places like this! The weather forecast was pretty wet and overcast that day, so we picked a hike that wasn't too long or strenuous, as we didn't want to run into any potential problems, stuck halfway up a mountain in the pouring rain! So this Callander Crags route seemed to fit our criteria well.

The Eco-Warrior | Character Sketch
11:01 pm
She's out to save the planet, whatever it takes. That's easier said than done, of course. She's always known about climate change, it was taught to her in school as a child, but life got busy and it didn't seem like a pressing issue for a while. Then, a few years ago, she watched this documentary, and it alerted her to the severity of the situation again. From there, it was a deep spiral of internet research, and the terror and panic started to set in.

Turnhouse Hill, Pentlands | Hiking Edinburgh
8:37 pm
We seem to be getting a last wave of summer for the year this week! And I had days off, so I headed out to the Pentland Hills, for a quick hike to make the most of it. To be honest, it was a bit overcast and cloudy for the first half of this, but it brightened up later on. I chose Turnhouse Hill, a route I hadn't taken before, but not too long or strenuous, as I wasn't planning on going out for the entire day.

Good Vibes Only | Musically Inspired
6:09 pm
Some people have big dreams and goals and ambitions. They want to change the world, and leave their mark stamped on it. And they'll do whatever it takes to get there. But not everyone is like that. Some people prioritise other things. Some people just want to be good and kind. And that's more than enough.

Outfit - Last Days of Summer
4:54 pm
Scotland in September means summer is well and truly over. However, this is one last summer outfit I wanted to share before transitioning into autumn wear. I actually wore this a year ago to the Meadows festival - this was from this year - but it's one I'll pull out fairly regularly. I like a lot of outfits that mix a delicate texture, like this white lace dress, with something a bit rougher round the edges, like this ripped denim waistcoat. Definitely the sort of combination I've done regularly in the past! The shoes are easy slip ons that I wear a lot in summer, even if they're starting to fall apart. And I added some jewellery to match the colour of the dress. This outfit won't see daylight again until next summer, but I keep going back to it for a reason!

Life Doesn't Stop
3:07 pm
Sometimes you desperately want to hit pause. The world seems too big, or time is moving too fast, and you just want to stop and catch your breath, just for a moment. Just to have an extra moment to process or decide or maybe even savour something. But time never stops. Time always continues, and so must we.
