So, back when I was in university, I would spend my summers working for a language school, taking teenagers on trips around parts of Scotland. Often, I got to see places I had never been myself before either. Thing is, when you're in charge of seventy or eighty teenagers, you're not entirely focussed on the places you're visiting, but rather on keeping them all under control! So, I've actually revisited a few of the places I used to take them - such as Holyrood Palace - to actually appreciate them better myself! Last weekend, I used my day off to visit the Kelvingrove, in Glasgow.

Outfit - Door to Door
5:46 pm
It's been a while since I used a band t-shirt in an outfit post (they didn't really work with my Disneybounding last year), but I've been wearing them more often recently, and experimenting with different combinations. The weather is warming up too, freeing me from endless jeans and jumper outfits. I got this Twin Atlantic t-shirt just last year, and I like the mix of the rocker t-shirt and boots, with the more feminine skirt. This denim skirt pairs so easily with lots of things, especially these new colourful tights I got recently - I have a few more colours to try looks with as well! I thought the patterns of the cardigan also worked with this slightly mix & matched look overall, with plenty shapes and colours on the go! I also picked simple earrings, but I find myself frequently pairing these wooden ones with denim clothing, I like the textures together!

Things Will Go Wrong | Musically Inspired
6:05 pm
Shit will hit the fan. At least once, likely several times during your life, things will get fucked up. Nothing is ever going to go perfectly all the time. Life doesn't work that way, we can't control all the external forces that affect us. And no matter how hard you rail against that fact, it's unavoidable. Shit will hit the fan, so just accept it.

It's noble and majestic and luxurious. It's mystical and enchanting and unique. It's rare and creative and powerful.

Quarter of a Century
4:24 pm
Here we are again, another year older. I turned 25 earlier this week, and every year as I age, it makes me reflect on life and where I am. I mean, I do that all the time on this blog anyways, but my mind drifts into that area again whenever I consider how old I am now. And 25 feels like a fairly significant one - halfway through my twenties, halfway to fifty, quarter of a century... After 25 I feel like we only really celebrate each decade as the milestones.

Outfit - Birthday Party
5:23 pm
Well, it's been a while since my last outfit post, hasn't it? I'm not working to such a strict schedule for posting as I used to, as although it did make me post regularly, I felt I was starting to sacrifice quality for the sake of quantity. But anyways, it was my birthday party last weekend, so I figured I'd share the outfit I chose for that. It wasn't a 'party' as such, rather just a bunch of friends going out to a couple of pubs for the night. They're locations I've been to before, pretty regularly, so it wasn't anything too fancy or exciting, but I wanted to dress up a little more than usual since it was a more special occasion. This dress is a favourite of mine, as I love the colour and lace patterns, and it's comfortable to move around in. The boots are also my standard going out shoes, comfy as well as cute. The cardigan and tights are a must for Scottish winter weather these days. And the jewellery was some of my favourite pieces too, all silver to match each other, with the rings being the ones I wear all the time, and the earrings are just big and fun. I liked the idea of the 'tree of life' symbolism as I get older as well!

Cape Town | South Africa
2:28 pm
Alright, strap in guys, because this is a long one! This is also my final post from my South Africa trip, which concluded in the capital of Cape Town. As I explained in the last post, Hermanus brought the group tour to an end, with just the drop off in Cape Town the following morning. Beyond that, everyone had decided for themselves how much longer to stay there for. I had booked two extra nights, giving me an afternoon, full day, and morning (roughly 48 hours total) to explore the city before I'd have to head to the airport for my flight home. So, there's a lot I managed to squeeze in!

Hermanus | South Africa
5:17 pm
So, I'm not entirely sure where the Garden Route officially starts and ends, as the internet tells me different things, so this portion of the trip might have still counted as part of it... Anyways, our day travelling from Swellendam (after Oudtshoorn) to Hermanus was the last full day of the group tour, before we would be dropped in Cape Town the next morning. The trip itinerary had said we would be on the R320 wine route, but as far as we could tell, we actually weren't, as we didn't pass through Caledon - which I was looking out for, it being the hometown of a friend of mine. We were still in the general area though, to stop for some wine tasting on the way to our last night in Hermanus.
