Germany is a country I’ve explored a couple of regions of, though of course, I know there are plenty more places I haven’t been yet. My first visit included Munich, and countryside areas in the Rhine Valley region, and then I returned last year for a weekend in Berlin. Whenever I look back at photos from different European countries, I like seeing how different the architecture, design, and styles of each country are, and Germany is no different. It’s also interesting to see how different Munich and Berlin look, something I didn’t realise at first!
Munich is full of picturesque architecture, with many beautiful buildings dotted around it’s small town centre – and of course, the beer halls are a great place to visit!
The Rhine Valley is full of scenic landscapes, and small quaint towns – perhaps not as lively as the cities, but very pretty to drive through and explore!
Berlin is full of important, historic landmarks, from the Brandenburg Gate to the remnants of the Berlin Wall. There seem to be a lot more columns, and classic elements to the design here – I’m not an architectural expert by any means, but it’s interesting to see the differences anyway!
Berlin has so many other quirky places to see, besides the major landmarks, from many parks and outdoor spaces, to more modern buildings, and pieces of street art around the city – the counterculture here is as important as the historic locations!
