Outfit – Poor Unfortunate Souls

Turning to a more villainous character for my inspiration this week, with this look being based on Ursula, from ‘The Little Mermaid’ – check out Ariel here. The villains may actually prove to be easier to style for me, since I typically wear darker colours more similar to their palettes. Ursula is a prime example, with her purple skin and black tentacles, which I’ve used a purple top and black leggings to mimic. I liked the leather look of the leggings to echo her slippery, scaly tentacles, but I also mixed and matched by experimenting with the skirt on top for a floaty, underwater effect. I didn’t have a necklace quite like her seashell, but I thought this moonstone heart was the right colour, and the heart shape could be appropriate since she tries to capture Prince Eric’s heart. The earrings are big and bold, which seemed like the right style for her, and I tried to get some volume in my hair to mimic hers (I suck at doing hair by the way). And of course, I had to finish it with some shimmery purple eyeshadow, and a bold red lip.
